OUR WINE LIST
Owner François Louy & Sommelier, Rocco Spagnardi, work hard
to create one of the most unique and affordable wine lists in the city.
Focusing on the hard to find varietals, our list introduces the most
passionate producers in Italy who take pride in respecting the unique
characteristics of the land and grape varietals.
We believe wine is an essential part of a meal & work hard to
choose wines that best complement our menu.
In an effort to bring you these wines at reasonable prices, we have
the lowest mark up in the industry &
whenever we find a great deal on a fantastic wine, we pass it on to you.
JUST IN:
RIBOLLA GIALLA 2005 - IL CARPINO
This golden colored white wine from Friuli is produced by a small, family
operated organic vineyard run by Franco and Anna Sosol. Located between
Oslavia and San Floriano del Collio, their 15 ha of vineyards sit directly
adjacent to the famous producer Jasko Gravner. Grown on soils of mostly
sand and lime-rich marlstone, the grapes are left in contact with
the stems and skins after the fermentation process, followed by aging in
large Slavonian oak barrels, resulting in a beautiful wine full of richness,
complexity, and minerality.
On our list at $46
ISOLA DEI NURAGHI "S'ARAI" 2004 - PALA
S’Arai means “the plough” in Sardinian dialect, and
this single vineyard wine is an incredible expression of
the uniqueness of the land and soil of Sardinia. Three
of Sardinia’s
ancient and native varietals; Cannonau, Carignano and Bovale, are first
fermented separately in stainless steel vats. They are then combined
and refined for 1 month in underground cement vats, followed by 8-10
months in French oak barriques. This complicated production ensures a
wine like no-other, with full, soft and refined flavors that could only
come from Sardinia. Winner of the 2-Bicchieri award.
On our list at $58.
WE ARE FEATURING BOTH THESE WINES BY THE GLASS IN OUR EUROCAVE!
